CP in a blow out!
The Rebels take a 14 point lead, 39-25, at the half and never look back as they get their first conference win of the season. I missed this one but got the following text messages:
- Maple Grove has a really hostile crowd on hand.
- The Maple Grove STUDENT section is out of control & the schools AD is sitting in the front row with them. Looking at there warm up suits, I thinks its a bunch of DRUNK hockey players. I wonder if they play tomorrow.
- They are booing & razing kids BEFORE warm ups.
- Duberry is booed every time he touches the ball in the 1st half.
- The Maple Grove players are fouling really hard and the coach is just standing there like he is okay with it. This is AWFUL!
- Maple Grove players are a bunch of hacks.
- Surprised that ONLY 2 MG kids fouled out and there was no CP kids HURT!
- Check the Maple Grove roster and I GUARANTEE you most of them play football!
- CP beat them in football 33-0 and MG has not forgot.
- Pedretti intentionally fouls out because he can't take anymore, sits besides the coach and he doesn't say a word to him. These guys are NUTS!
- I think Scotty hit six or seven 3's.
Interesting comments. I knew that Maple Grove was a strong physical team but I assumed they where a smart and clean team, doesn't look like it. I know that there is a personal rivalry between both teams seniors that runs back to 6th grade traveling basketball and that Maple Grove use to win those games. The two Rebel seniors, Theisen and Munneke probably really enjoyed this one. Looking at the stats the Rebels must have played good defense and where able to use their speed and spread the court on the bigger slower Crimson.
The Box:
Theisen 27
Duberry 13
Zimmermann 12
Munneke 8
Davis 2
Of note:
- The team is over 500 for the first time this season.
- The smaller Rebels play well against a big physical team.
- Four players in double digits.
- The team shoots 65% from the arch (11 for 17).
- The team has it's second straight game with double digit steals, 13.
- Theisen goes 7 for 7 from the arch, 6 boards & 3 steals.
- Duberry is perfect (6-6) from the free throw line with 7 assists.
- Zimmermann big inside; 8 boards & 3 blocks.
- Hager keeps up his good on ball defense, 2 steals.
