Minnesota Lynx Honor 8 More Teams with the "Lynx Team of the Week" Awards
Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Lynx are proud to announce the eight high schools that have earned the distinction of receiving the "Lynx Team of the Week" awards, which includes results through Feb. 7.This is the 10th consecutive week that the Minnesota Lynx have recognized one girls team and one boys team in each of the state's four classes of competition. The program will continue every week throughout the high school regular season.
Class AAAA
Champlin Park is the Class AAAA Lynx Team of the Week following a pair of wins sandwiched around a two-point overtime loss in the week. The week included wins over Andover (67-60) on Feb. 1 and Anoka (79-67) on Feb. 6. The heartbreaking loss came at the hands of Cambridge-Isanti (74-76 OT). After suffering four losses in a five-game stretch in January to fall to 4-7, the Rebels have turned things around with four wins in their last five contests to climb back to .500 (8-8).
Each team will receive a Certificate of Merit, courtesy of the Minnesota Lynx, along with a spotlight on Lynxbasketball.com. All 104 teams will also be invited to a Lynx game during the 10th Anniversary season this summer.
Inside The Lines announces that they will be training and coaching a group of the team's next year players in a spring league and team camp. The 12 man team includes Brad Thompson, D'Andre Williamson, Jasper Duberry, Kyle Zimmermann, Rakim Finney-Anim, Scott Theisen, Tanner Brust, Teddy Gibson, TJ Okafor, Tyler Boland, Tyler Munneke and Zach Kadlec.
Williamson, Duberry and Zimmermann will be playing on the clubs national touring team (TNL) as well.
