By Ken Lien, Minnesota Preps.com Senior Writer

The Osseo Orioles captured their second consecutive Northwest Suburban Conference championship with a hard fought 76-67 victory over the Rebels from Champlin Park. It was not without some anxious moments for the Orioles, however. With Osseo leading by 12 points with 3:25 left in the first half, Champlin Park went on a 6-0 run to cut the lead in half just before halftime. The second half was a back and forth battle as Osseo would increase their to 11 only to have the Rebels chip away as the trailed only by 1 with 2:23 remaining the game. Osseo then converted 6 free throws and a couple of field goals to win by 9.Leading scorers for Osseo were Ryan Spading with 22, Sam Dower with 16 and Carrington Tankson with 15.Champlin Park had 4 players in double figures: Emeka Okafor and Calvin Nolte each had 14, Scott Theisen (nephew of Osseo coach Tim Theisen) had 13, and Jasper Duberry had 10.
