Tuesday's boys' basketball roundup




SECTION 5 SEMIFINALS:
No. 4-ranked Cooper flirted with disaster. Senior guard Freddie Burton opened overtime with a three-pointer and the Hawks scored 14 points in the extra session to knock off Champlin Park 82-73. Kenquane Brown made two free throws with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 68 as Cooper overcame a seven-point deficit in the final five minutes. Senior forward Joe Bright led the Hawks with 33 points. Scott Theisen made seven three-pointers en route to a 25-point outing for the Rebels.
