Catching the action of TNL Express against Triple Threat Saturday night it was interesting to see the momentum swings behind the play of guards Jay Sewer and Jasper Duberry. Jasper scored a quick ten points starting with two transition baskets inside and then two corner three-pointers. Then in the second half with the game hovering around even score-wise, it was Sewer's offensive punch that was the difference. He scored on two fast breaks with lay-ups and showed off his pretty three-point stroke with three made triples. Duberry finished with 14 for the game and Sewer scored 16 points. Sewer had 14 points in the championship contest.
Every coach I talked to about TNL raved about Champlin Park's Kyle Zimmermann for his work ethic and why not. Zimmerman led the team with 15 points in the championship game and he had 14 against Triple Threat. Zimmerman is the type of worker who is always on the move and he cleans up everything inside making putbacks and slashing to the cup for lay-ins.
