CP 61 - Anoka 50


In a game that doesn’t get into a real flow do to the number of turnovers and missed shots from both teams, Josh Pella’s dunk finally gets the Rebels on the board, Tornadoes 9-2. Pella converts a 3 point play as Duberry makes 1 of 2 free throws to put the Rebels in the lead for good at 12-11. Dillon Hager knocks down two 3 pointers as the Rebels go on a 16-4 run to go into the half leading 30-21.


The Rebels start the 2nd half in a zone as D’Andre Williamson sparks them with a basket, draws a foul on Ismail (his 3rd) and then takes a charge from Tyus and cleans up the boards. Duberry gets a steal and on his breakout he is fouled hard on the hand and has to leave the game as Reibling subs for him and makes 1 of 2 free throws, CP 35-23 with 14 minutes to go. Pella starts to get active on both ends as he gets a basket and then Brandon Davis knocks down a 3 pointer, CP 40-23, timeout Tornadoes.

The Tornadoes end their drought as they get a 3 pointer from Marcus Tyus as they go on a 7-0 run which Pella stops with a basket, CP 42-30 with 9 minutes to go. The Tornadoes score a quick 4 points, 42-34 CP timeout.

Pella with a 4-0 run, a bunny and a jumper from the elbow, 46-34 with 7 minutes to go. Davis rebounds a missed BJ Sherva shot and goes the distance for a basket that Ismail answers, 50-38 with 4 minutes to go, timeout Tornadoes.

Davis comes out of the timeout with a corner 3 pointer, Gave answers that then Duberry beats Tyus to the basket, 55-40 with 2 minutes to go. The Tornadoes go into a full court press and get a steal and 2 free throws. The Rebels break the press and Brent Walker adds 2 free throws, 57-43. The Tornadoes get a little closer before Duberry and Hager close it out at the free throw line.

The Rebels go on to win a game that they started very sloppy, full of turnovers and missed shots. However, they turn it on and play a better 2nd half and get their 14th straight win.


Josh Pella who had another solid all around game was named "QCTV Player of the Game".
