The Rebels Sweep Orioles To Take 2 Game Lead

The #2 Rebels playing without their leading scorer, Kyle Zimmermann, knock off the #3 Orioles for the second time this season to push their conference lead to two games as they get their 12th win in a row. The Rebels fall behind 4-0 before hitting their stride and taking a 15-9 lead. Brent Walker gets back to back baskets to get the Rebels their largest lead at 24-11. A well timed missed shot follow dunk by Pella sends the Rebels into the locker room at the half leading 31-23.

Josh Pella

The Rebels come out the 2nd half and continued to build their lead. A basket by Pella, Duberry 3 point play and Brandon Davis 3 pointer gets the Rebels a 39-25 lead which swelled as high as 18 on a Pella breakout for a 54-36 lead with 7 minutes to go. The Orioles go on a quick 2 minute 10-3 run to get the score to 57-46 with 5 minutes to go. The Rebels get back on track and close the game out.

Dillon Hager

Jasper Duberry (5 rebounds & 5 assists) & Josh Pella (12 rebounds for a double double) led the way as four starters scored in double digits with Brent Walker turning in a great defensive effort off of the bench. Sniper Dillon Hager knocked down 3 of 4 three pointers as D'Andre Williamson pulled down 6 big boards.
