CP 92 - Anoka 69

The Rebels fall behind 5-0 on Anoka's Senior Night before stepping up the pace and going on a 19-0 run and never look back. The Rebels keep the ball moving and get up and down the court to take a 41-24 lead at the half.

The Tornadoes fight off a couple of runs and go on a couple of their own to stay within striking distance before the Rebels officially put this one away with about five minutes left and clear their bench. The Rebels have four players in double digits led by Scott Theisen's 22. Point guard Jasper Duberry almost gets his first double double of the season with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Tyler Munneke, Dillon Hager and Brandon Davis ran thru an obstacle course of picks ( I thought I was watching Larry Bird or Reggie Miller) all night to hold Bernie Ward to a hard earned 20 points for the Tornadoes.

Theisen 22
Zimmermann 8
Duberry 17
Pella 19
Munneke 6
Williamson 12
Reibling 3
Hager 2

Of Note:

  • Junior Brandon Davis plays significant minutes covering Tornado sharp shooter Bernie Ward
  • Blaine defeats Maple Grove to drop the Crimson into a 2 way tie with the Rebels for 3rd place
  • Centennial is alone in 2nd by 1 game but have Blaine & Osseo next week

Hitting the century mark on Senior Day!

The Rebels race out to a 53-36 halftime lead and never look back on Senior Day. The halftime Senior Day celebration was very short as the Rebels only have two seniors, Scott Theisen and Tyler Munneke (4 points, 4 assists & 3 steals). The Rebels score another 51 points in the 2nd half to hit the century mark for the first time this year. Scott Theisen matched his season high with 31 points (5 of 9 from the arch)as Kyle Zimmermann efficiently made 11 of 15 field goals to post his season high 28 points.
