CP 72 - Elk River 52

Scott Theisen leads the Rebels with 19 points as the Rebels race out to a quick big lead by playing good team defense, moving the ball and pushing the ball up court for easy and early opportunities. I believe at some point the rebels had more than tripled the Elks score. With early massive, questionable and random substitutions, the Rebels go into the locker room up 45 - 15.

The Elks start the 2nd half very aggressive and show they are not going to lay down as they cut into the lead and start to build some momentum. I was very impressed with how hard the Elks worked at getting back into the game. The Elks have a run while most of the Rebel starters are on the bench. The Rebels reinstate their starting line up and go on an impressive run to take the game back over and go on for the win. The Elks outscored the Rebels by 10 in the second half and where led by Jack Gavin's 13 points. Nick Held pitched in 10 for the Elks as well.

The Box:
Theisen 19
Zimmermann 13
Duberry 8
Munneke 2
Williamson 2
Hager 6
Davis 1
Reibling 5

Of Note:

  • Hager finds his stroke and knocks down a couple of 3's
  • Early and random substitutions throw off teams flow
  • Theisen gets his first dunk of the year
  • Didn't know coming into this game how under staffed Elk River is
  • Good team passing and ball movement
  • The Rebels win streak hits 5
