After ending their season high 3 game losing streak with a convincing win over Blaine in their last game, the Rebels lose again to a team they had previously defeated (Maple Grove & Centennial). The Rebels take a 30-29 lead into the locker room behind the scoring of Scott Theisen. Duberry, for his second straight game, picks up 2 first half fouls and sits the last 7 minutes of the half.
After a couple of minutes into the half the Rebels go on a 6-0 run only to have the the Huskies answer it by tying up the score. The Rebels then go on another run, this one is 8-0, to take a 48-40 lead. The Rebels make some questionable substitutions and then watch the Huskies go on a 9-0 run to take the lead 49-48. During this stretch, the Rebels call a timeout it seems like every 3-4 minutes and never get into a rhythm or show any flow.
With some questionable calls for both teams, the game remains close the rest of the way as the Huskies turn the ball over with 16 seconds left leading 60-59. The Rebels call timeout with 10 seconds left to draw up a play. The ball is inbounded to Duberry who passes to Pella who looks like he is waiting for someone to pass the ball to. Scott Theisen led the Rebels with 16 points as the team blow a perfect oppurtunity to gain some ground on 2nd place Centennial who host Maple Grove tomorrow night.
The Huskies had lost their previous meeting to the Rebels 46-43 when Dillon Hager hit two free throws with seconds left after the Rebels had forced a turnover. Good coaching job by the Huskie staff who made the adjustments they needed to make to get the victory. The Huskies where led by Brett Tester who scored 17 points.
